Barbara (Bee) McGuire
I studied Fine Art in South Africa and did a postgraduate printmaking course in London.
I have a wide range of art and design skills with much experience in drawing
and watercolour painting, as well as in textiles and ceramics.

I am an experienced children's book illustrator, having illustrated over 50 books worldwide. I have also worked as a freelance designer, children's magazine editor/illustrator, and a self employed artist doing commissions and taking part in various exhibitions with my watercolour paintings and fabric art.
In my role as teacher, I have taught art at home, at Primary and Secondary schools, and at Tertiary College level. Although I have primarily been a practicing artist, in the last ten years teaching art to children has become a growing passion.

I studied primary teaching, majoring in art and design at Churchlands Teachers College, Western Australia.
In the past 15 years I have attended various art workshops learning papier mache, life and still life drawing, mosaics, mixed media, watercolour techniques, and more!
I have designed and organised children's art workshops at festivals in and around Perth, and during that time 'Funky Junk' was created, which focuses on fun and educational recycled art forms.
I designed and taught 2 x 4 week art programmes in my children's classroom as well as taught children's art classes at home.
My home is full of my own children's artwork, it's on walls, in shelves, and in journals! I am passionate about teaching art to children.
